What we know about these celebrities expecting this 2017
It’s a fact of life that babies are born every minute of every day, but the birth announcements that really capture our interest are the celebrity babies. What crazy name will they be given? Will the mother bounce back into shape within a week? Did they get the good looks of their parents? Will they be sporting designer gear from day one? It’s also a little glimpse of normality into the lives of the rich and famous. We’ve put together a list of our 10 top celebrity pregnancies and also the babies that have made an appearance in 2017.
Talking of twins, it’s official, Queen B is expecting twins too! 35-year-old Beyoncé and 47-year-old Jay-Z already have a little girl, named Blue Ivy, aged 5. The ever-cool Carters sent the internet crazy when Beyoncé posted pictures from a bump photoshoot on her website and wrote a message confirming the happy news, saying, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.” It might be tricky with 3 kids, but it’s not the first Bey has had to carry two girls… Michelle and Kelly who?
If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, you’ll be pleased to hear that lead character, Tyrion, has had a happy ending in real life. Actor Peter Dinklage, 47, and his wife, Erica Schmidt, already have a five-year-old daughter, named Zelig, and will be welcoming a new baby later on this year. Zelig sounds like a name that has come straight out of the hit fantasy series, so we’ll be looking forward to hearing what they call the new tot.
It seems like only yesterday that Olympic medallists, 24-year-old Laura Trott and 28-year-old Jason Kenny, got married, and now they’re expecting a little one! They announced the happy news by posting a pic on Instagram of their bikes with a third kid’s bike next to it. With two Olympians as parents, we’re guessing their kid will always get picked first in P.E.!
OK, we admit it, we didn’t see this one coming. Silver fox, George Clooney, is set to become a father for the first time at 55. His glamorous wife, 39-year-old human rights lawyer, Amal, is expecting twins in June this year and it’s reported that the lucky couple will have a boy and a girl. Nicole Kidman famously bet George £10,000 that he would become a father by the time he was 40. Nicole paid out on his birthday, but George sent the cheque back, with a note which read, “Double or nothing for another 10 years.” So somebody is going to be £20k richer – not that any of them need it! Anyway, we can’t wait to see the twins. With such good looking parents, we’re sure they’ll be real cuties.
The baby of a model and a movie star is certainly going to be one to watch! 29-year-old model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, announced that she and her action hero fiancé, Jason Statham, 49 are having their first baby. Rosie revealed the news on her Instagram page showing off her bump in a bikini, with a caption saying, “Very happy to share that Jason and I are expecting!! Lots of love Rosie x”. We’re wondering if their little one will be given both of their names and become Baby Statham-Huntington-Whiteley – a very big name for such a tiny person!
40-year-old Sherlock Star, Benedict Cumberbatch, welcomed a baby boy, Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch (all the Cs!) in June 2015 with his wife Sophie Hunter, and now they’re expecting again! Back in October, fans spotted that Sophie, 38, was sporting the hint of a tummy bump at the Doctor Strange premiere and soon after it was confirmed that the couple would be welcoming another little Cumberbaby. So it’s now left to us to play detective and deduce if their baby will be pink or blue…
The TOWIE crew have already produced a few sprogs between them and now it’s the turn of long-standing TOWIE alumni, Amy Childs. The latest TOWIE bambino is set to arrive in May and luckily Amy’s jailbird boyfriend Bradley Wright, 25, has now been released after 16 months in prison after being jailed for handling stolen goods. 26-year-old Amy said, “We wanted [a baby] before Bradley went to prison but it didn’t happen. I didn’t think I could get pregnant.” Little baby Childs will soon have a playmate too, as fellow TOWIE star, Billie Faiers, is also pregnant for the second time with her fiancé Greg Shepherd. Reem!
Another shock baby announcement came from 50-year-old Strictly favourite, Anton Du Beke in November 2016. The dancing star announced the news on Twitter with a cute snap of children’s dance shoes, with a caption, saying, “We hear the ‘tippety-tap’ of tiny feet!” He and his girlfriend, 41-year-old Hannah Summers, have revealed that, after successful IVF treatment, they too are joining the celebrity twins club. Like the Clooneys, they are expecting a boy and a girl, and Anton was hoping to name them Antoine and Antoinette. Anton said, “I think they’re lovely names but I didn’t get a good response.” We’re guessing Hannah said “No way!” then Anton? Mini Du Beke may have a ready-made dancing partner too, as Strictly Come Dancing beauty Aliona has also announced that she also has a bun in the oven. Watch out for these boogie-ing babies soon!
With a brood that is starting to rival the Kardashians, footballer Steven Gerrard, 36, and his wife Alex, 34, are now expecting their 4th cherub. The celebrity couple already have 3 daughters, Lilly-Ella, 12, Lexie, 10 and Lourdes, 5, and the girls are said to be very excited about the new addition to their family. The big question is, are they going to keep up the L-name tradition? How about Lucy for a girl and, erm… Lionel for a boy?
And last, but certainly not least, Cheryl’s (Cole? Fernandez-Versisni?) and Liam Payne’s anklebiter is on the way! Gorgeous Geordie Chezza kept us guessing for ages before finally confirming that she was indeed having a baby, not just eaten too many pies. 23-year-old Liam, disappointing many a One Direction fan, has now moved his star girlfriend into his £5million mansion in Surrey. Rumours are rife that Cheryl has actually already had her baby, as she was pictured in a photoshoot for her Eylure false eyelash collection with a flat stomach.
Cheryl mentioned in an interview some time ago that if she had a boy baby, she’d name him Alfie, whilst Liam had previously said, “I like the name Taylor. Taylor’s pretty neutral for a boy or a girl. That’s what I’m going to call my first child if I had children.” So Taylor for a girl and Alfie for a boy then? Watch this space…
